Rudolph had it easy – Researchers in South Korea created the world’s first glow-in-the-dark puppy. Her name is Ruppy, and she’s the first transgenic puppy, meaning she was created using cloned cells, including a red fluorescent gene produced by sea anemones.

This is what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps – Swiss voters have agreed to ban naked hiking in the Alps, spurred by the appearance of dozens of mostly German nudists wandering through the Swiss heartland. “The reactions of the population have shown that such appearances over a large area are perceived as thoroughly disturbing and irritating,” according to a government statement.

UnBEARable, get it? – A pregnant fleeing a bear was struck by a slow-moving car in northwestern Colorado Springs. The Colorado Division of Wildlife euthanized the bear after the woman identified it. The woman, now in good condition, expressed sorrow at the bear’s death. She plans to give her unborn child the middle name of “Bear” in its honor.

Old dude goes for the groin – An 84-year-old Tacoma, Washington resident fought off two carjackers attempting to commandeer his vehicle. After one carjacker punched him in the face and demanded his keys, Ted Mazetier kicked the man in the groin and the other man in the stomach. The carjackers fled as a passer-by stopped to assist Mazetier.
